Investigation Cases
If you are referred for any investigation by Citizenship and Immigration Canada or Canadian Border Services Agency, it means that you may be subject to admissibility hearings or removal procedure.
Common reasons of investigation
If you or your spouse or any other sponsored person received a letter stating that your sponsor or you are under investigation, it means that your file with citizenship and Immigration Canada is on hold and the CBSA/CIC is investigation your immigration history as they believe that you are in violation of Immigration and Refugee Protection Act or Regulations. The most common reasons of investigation are marriages of convenience, bad faith marriages, divorces of convenience, criminality, adoption of convenience, complaints by ex spouse, misrepresentation, perjury or commission of any other act which may makes you inadmissible.
If you are under investigation, it means that, if CIC/CBSA will find that you are inadmissible, you have to appear for admissibility hearing which may lead to removal orders. The investigation cases may take more than a year for processing so its better if you can contact the immigration law professionals as soon as possible. We can help you if you are under such investigation. For further question or information, please contact us by an e-mail.
