Skilled Worker Immigration to Canada
Skilled workers are people who can become permanent residents because they are able to become economically established in Canada. You will be assessed on six selection factors and be allotted the points on such basis.
Please note that with the amendment of Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations followed by new instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Canada in November 2008, only those applications can be processed which falls under following criteria:
(THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT APPLICABLE ON APPLICATIONS WHICH WERE SUBMITTED BEFORE FEBURARY 27,2008)
1. Applicants who have an arranged employment offer,
OR
2. Applicants who are skilled workers and has atleast one year experience in any of following occupations:

Primary Production Managers (Except Agriculture)

Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management

Insurance Adjusters and Claims Examiners

Biologists and Related Scientists

Architects
-
Specialist Physicians
-
General Practitioners and Family Physicians

Dentists
-
Pharmacists
-
Physiotherapists
-
Registered Nurses
-
Medical Radiation Technologists

Dental Hygienists & Dental Therapists
-
Licensed Practical Nurses
-
Psychologists
-
Social Workers
-
Chefs & Cooks
-
Contractors and Supervisors, Carpentry Trades

Contractors and Supervisors, Mechanic Trades

Electricians (Except Industrial & Power System)
-
Industrial Electricians & Plumbers

If applicant meets the above mentioned criteria then he/she will be assesed on basis of following selection grid.

| Pass mark | 67 points |
- If your score is the same or higher than the pass mark, then you may qualify to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker.
- If your score is lower than the pass mark, you are not likely to qualify to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker. We recommend that you do not apply at this time.
- However, you can still apply if you believe other factors would show that you are able to establish yourself in Canada and support your dependants. Send a detailed letter with your application explaining why you think you are able to become economically established in Canada. Include any documents that support your claim.
Note- if you are married or have a common law partner and if he/she is able to secure more points based on the selection grid, then we sugest you to make him/her a principle applicant
